04 Jul 2025South Eastern Railway expands programme of daytime inspections for improved maintenance
- A small number of timetable changes on four routes across Kent will take place off-peak, within school hours on weekdays, over a six-month period.
- This will give railway workers more time in-between trains to carry out a greater number of maintenance inspections in daylight hours, which helps to improve their efficiency and supports better performance.
- Customers are being advised to plan ahead and check journey planners before they travel.

- The last of the Class 395 highspeed trains to receive its interior refresh has re-entered passenger service.
- This completes the first phase of a £27m upgrade that saw all 29 trains fitted with new carpets, new seats, energy-efficient LED lighting, and at-seat USB charge points.
- The second phase of the upgrade is now underway bringing in improved passenger information and a sleek new exterior livery.
