Southeastern, one of the country’s biggest and busiest passenger train operators, has released an innovative new update to its app, allowing users to track and share their journey in real time with friends and family.
Track My Journey (TMJ) combines real-time transport information with sophisticated GPS and mapping technology to geolocate the customer’s smartphone and accurately determine which train they are currently travelling on.
For customers, this means the system can accurately determine their remaining journey, including calling points and expected arrival time. This can help customers plan their day and ensure they’re on time for that important meeting or provide an expected time of arrival for meeting friends or family.
The journey can also be shared through a simple click, providing that extra piece of mind for customers as they can share their journey progress in real-time with family and friends – even if the phone loses signal or is switched off.
Customers can also ‘pin’ the service to their app home screen allowing them to simply and easily check their regular service.
Track My Journey can link with any train operating in England, Scotland or Wales – you just need to use the Southeastern app.
This new feature goes alongside a host of other additions to the Southeastern app, including the ability to book passenger assistance while buying a ticket and a new app Ticket Wallet.
