Hopeless romantics in the South East have this morning been proving that love is in the air by surprising their Valentine’s with messages of affection on their commute to work.
For a second year running, Southeastern’s Twitter team were inundated with Valentine notes after inviting passengers to send in messages for their loved ones – along with where and when they wanted to surprise their special someone.
The messages were displayed across passenger information screens on the platform and announced over the station speakers to passengers delight. The information screen at Orpington for the 0910 train to Victoria read: “Vicki, may our love never be de-railed, all my love, Geoff xx”
Whilst at Tunbridge Wells, the 0720 train to Charing Cross was accompanied by the message: “Happy first Valentines Tom! You are my favourite thing about my morning commute. I love you from Rosie! X”
Over the tannoy at Clock House a north-east accent was heard delivering the message: “MICHAEL CASEY! Yes you!!! Happy Valentine's day!!!!!!! I haven't bought you a card or a present so it's lucky the sexy voiceman was available! Over and out!"
Passenger Information Manager, John Till said: “We connect people every day and love it when we hear of couples whose romantic journeys in life began on our network. We loved playing cupid last year and so wanted to surprise our lucky Valentines with messages from their loved ones.”
