Southeastern is getting into the Coronation spirit by decorating stations across the region - and not just with bunting.

Southeastern is getting into the Coronation spirit by decorating stations across the region - and not just with bunting.: KnittedKing

To mark King Charles III’s Coronation this coming Saturday our stations will be decked out with bunting and even a life-sized knitted King.

The knitted King was created by the Battle Yarn Bombers working with 1066 Community Rail Partnership.  Taking several weeks to make.

To mark King Charles III’s Coronation this coming Saturday some of our stations will be delivering Coronation cheer.  Local communities have worked with Southeastern colleagues across various stations to prepare various activites, events and decorations over the three day celebration,  including a knitted King, giveaways, activity packs, life size cut-outs of the King for photo opportunities.  The knitted King's final destination will be at Tunbridge Wells Station where he will be until the end of Bank Holiday Monday.

Sonia Maulson, General Manager - North, Southeastern Railway, says: “We’re honoured to be supporting the Coronation of King Charles III and on Saturday we  will be helping people across Kent, Sussex and south east London reach central London so that they can be part of this historic occasion.  Our team wanted to do their bit for our customers – to help them get in the spirit and enjoy the celebrations so look out for some surprise and delights at our stations.”

Stations are expected to be busy with an array of events being held across the network over the weekend. For information on  Southeastern's network please visit our dedicated website  Coronation timetable | Southeastern (southeasternrailway.co.uk)
