Annual Shortlands Fun Day 16th June |
Shortlands annual Fun Day, now in its ninth year, will take place on 16 June at the Station Car Park, starting at 11am and ending at 5pm. This year the Southeastern team are raising money for local guide dogs and Project 5000, a project which seeks to help local homeless people. Station Manager Roy Vinnicombe commented “We hope to surpass the amount that was raised last year for these two great causes and look forward to welcoming familiar and new faces to our fun event”. The event will be full of old-school capers, from apple bobbing and hook-a-duck, to a bouncy castle and a face painting stall. Budding canine stars can strut their stuff in the dog show – and there will be lots of eats and treats, including Indian nibbles and indulgent cakes. A Southeastern Manager will be in the stocks and the British Transport Police and the local Fire Service will return this year with their vehicles, hopefully not having to rescue one of the managers. For those with an abundance of energy, try the archery, boxing and basket-ball. The Mayor of Bromley will be attending Shortlands Fun Day at lunch time. |
